The short film “A mosca cieca”, directed by Girolamo Capuano and written by Adriano Ricci, won the competition “Nos somos el futuro”. This project is dedicated to young directors and screenwriters from Italy and Spain and is part of the Palma de Mallorca Film Festival, chaired by Gabriella Carlucci.
The event, now in its fourth edition, was born from the collaboration between the Foundation film and media festival of Palma de Mallorca and the Italian cultural association Abilis di Marina Benvenuti with the aim of creating an exhibition dedicated to young Italian and Spanish cinema. The experience is supported by the general direction of cinema of Mibac, in collaboration with the Istituto Luce-Cinecittà, the Roma Lazio Film Commission, the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, the Spanish Embassy in Italy, the Spanish Ministry of Culture and the MIFF Majorcan Cultural Foundation (Spain).
The final phase of the contest will be held from 14 to 17 June in Palma de Mallorca. This year it will be the turn of RUFA students Adriano Ricci and Girolamo Capuano to be awarded: specifically, they will receive a financial contribution of 20,000 euros for their short film “A mosca cieca”. It is a comedy with a melancholic look, with ironic and funny ideas that tells of a young unemployed man. He has lost his salary and therefore his home and returns to live secretly at the home of his blind mother. A silent cohabitation, accepted in silence by both. A ménage made of games of silence and attention, pretending not to know.
