“Terre di Cinema” is an international event held in Catania since 2011. The aim of the initiative is to welcome about thirty filmmakers, coming from all over the world, to confront each other, participate in an intense program of training activities and make a series of short films strictly in 35mm Kodak film. The 2019 edition will take place from 14 to 25 September.
RUFA has officially joined the initiative: there will be 10 students who will be selected between the third year of Cinema and the two years of the two years of Film Art. The cost of participation will be guaranteed by the Academy, while the students will be responsible for board, lodging and travel expenses.
The directors will have the opportunity to prepare the shots, choose the locations and actors and, finally, move on to the production phase of the film, respecting the 5-minute editing, corresponding to 12 hours of shooting and 3 pizzas of film. English will be the official language on the set. Students will have the opportunity to put themselves to the test, working under pressure, in concert with young collaborators from other countries and cultures and with the support of professional tutors.
The activity is part of the proposal of the RUFA workshops of the academic year 2019/2020 and is structured in collaboration with teachers Livia Barbieri and Lorenzo d’Amico de Carvalho who will follow the training path of the 10 RUFA students that will lead to the realization of 10 short films shot in 35 mm Kodak film. Registration deadline April 30, 2019.
